“...you’d be hard pressed to find anything, regardless of price, that looks & sounds better – or even comes close.”
– Acoustic Magazine on the FTC
Exceptional Santa Cruz FTC (Flat Top Cutaway) custom instrument displayed at the 2019 Winter NAMM Show in Anaheim. This model was revived by Richard Hoover as a limited run inspired by the original 1980s FTC favored by Eric Clapton - known for blending archtop-like projection with flat-top sustain.

This instrument features a Redwood top paired with Granadillo back and sides, delivering a powerful, articulate voice with warmth, headroom, and clarity. It’s an incredibly responsive fingerstyle guitar but has no problem handling flatpicking as well. This is a rare, show-level Santa Cruz with outstanding craftsmanship and tone. Ideal for a serious player or collector.
