“We find the most resonant, best-sounding wood possible by responsible means. Tonal qualities improve with age due to the resins that crystallize once the wood is removed from a living tree. We use this secret to enable our new guitars to possess a legitimate vintage sound from the start.”
– Richard Hoover, Founder & Master Luthier at Santa Cruz Guitar Company
"Zorro" is a true one-of-one Santa Cruz Guitar Company custom build completed in 2016. Built to pre-war D-45 inspiration standards with no compromises in materials or craftsmanship. This build was custom spec'd from the ground up and uses master-grade, old-growth Brazilian rosewood & Adirondack red spruce selected specifically for this instrument.

Excellent overall condition. Properly humidified & professionally maintained with zero issues.
Brazilian rosewood of this quality is no longer available - replacement cost today would be significantly higher, if even possible. Ideal for a serious player or collector.
